Digital BackOffice will sponsor the 1st Annual CEN Member Conference (one of several sponsors) on May 10th to be held at Rentschler Field, East Hartford. Hewlett Packard and Trustwave are providing financial and programming support for this event.

The Connecticut Education Network, part of the Nutmeg Network, provides high speed connections on optical fiber to over 240 public schools; colleges and universities; and public libraries in the state. The Digital BackOffice is the first private cloud/data center service provider to connect to CEN after completing an agreement for Network Access with DAS/BEST last year. The CEN annual member conference will provide a forum to showcase recently announced cloud services and technologies for educators and public sector agencies. The DBO team is proud to sponsor and participate in the CEN member conference and we look forward to expanding our public sector service offerings on the CEN and Nutmeg networks. For additional information about the CEN Member Conference go to:

Regional School District #12 has completed installation of the Aerohive wireless access points at Shepaug Valley School. “Our goal was to provide a robust Internet connection to 100% of the Shepaug facility while allowing for configuration of multiple levels of access.” said, Karen Fildes, Instructional Technology Specialist for the district, “The Aerohive system met that mark.”

RSD #12 selected Aerohive and Digital BackOffice after reviewing leading wireless vendors. “Aerohive’s controller-less architecture eliminates performance bottlenecks and single points of failure” said Vic Vicenzi, Network Administrator, “and our experience since going live, confirms vendor claims. Aerohive optimizes airtime utilization when numerous wireless devices access the network from a single room or a common area.”

The Digital BackOffice is no stranger to the public sector, having successfully deployed both wired and wireless managed and cloud based IT services for many school districts including Stamford Public Schools, the City of Norwalk, Achievement First Charter Schools, and many more. By focusing on education and small to medium business opportunities the Digital BackOffice has redefined user expectations for IT services, cost of ownership and project management.

The Digital BackOffice is a business unit of Advanced Corporate Networking, a Connecticut based business incorporated in 1991. “By specializing in niche markets, like K-12 education, we develop expertise and an understanding of the needs of similar customers”, said Catherine Gunther, a Vice President at Advanced Corporate Networking. “Many K-12 school IT networks have grown to the size of large corporations, but the ratio of support personnel to computer systems is less by a factor of ten. The Digital BackOffice helps our schools and communities bridge the IT support gap and many services qualify for the federal E-rate program”.

Is your network vulnerable to unauthorized use and abuse? NetProtector service, from Digital BackOffice provides comprehensive, agentless, network access control at an affordable price. “Access control is critical to the growth of technology in our K-12 schools”, said Tommy Litwinczyk, Information Systems Manager at Cromwell Public Schools. “DBO NetProtector enables us to support the growing demand for one-to-one computing, and bring your own mobile device while protecting the network and users from potential harm.” Cromwell Public Schools is testing NetProtector at Cromwell Middle School.

“NetProtector sensors (local appliances) are supported by a cloud based management server and our team of experienced network technicians”, said Francis Palacio, Chief Information Office at Digital BackOffice, “our customers get actionable data as soon as a sensor is installed on the network. NetProtector immediately identifies rogue devices, malware, improperly patched operating systems, unauthorized users and inappropriate behavior.”

NetProtector helps prevent the spread of computer viruses and malware that can expose your network and the user community to harm, theft, bullying or worse. Automated policy enforcement ensures that all user devices remain in compliance every day, including detection of Apple or Windows devices which are non-compliant with internal security or technology policy.

“Hybrid cloud services like DBO NetProtector help us to bridge the support gap in our school district where staffing is 600 devices to one technician”, said Mr. Litwinczyk .

The Cromwell Public School district comprises four educational facilities which include Cromwell High School (Grades 9-12), Cromwell Middle School (Grades 6-8), Woodside Intermediate School (Grades 3-5), and Edna C. Stevens Elementary School (Grades PreK-2). Approximately 2,000 students are enrolled in the district.

Digital BackOffice is a leading provider of cloud based and data center services located in Milford, CT. NetProtector, NetWatch, Hosted Exchange, and Managed Optical Ethernet are services provided by Digital BackOffice for public sector, education and business market segments in the Northeast region of the United States. Contact sales@digitalbackoffice.com or call 203-874-5545 Ext. 18 and ask for Dale Bruckhart.

Wethersfield town hall offices, community center, police and fire departments are now connected by an optical fiber network at Gigabit Ethernet speed, a technology standard 600 times faster than the prior town wide area network.

“The primary intent of upgrading the town wide area network is to provide broadband capacity to facilitate internet access, improved response time and overall network performance.” said Rae Ann Palmer, Assistant Town Manager. “The 100% optical fiber wide area network with a high speed internet gateway, provided by Digital BackOffice, will permit the town to centralize infrastructure and better support financial, constituent and public safety software applications. New high bandwidth services such as video streaming, voice over IP and cloud based applications will now be possible between any town facility.”

Digital BackOffice is no stranger to the public sector, having successfully integrated high-speed managed fiber networks for Stamford Public Schools, the City of Norwalk, West Hartford Public Schools and many other Connecticut public agencies. The Digital BackOffice team has redefined user expectations for cloud services, internet reliability, cost of ownership and project management. Managed private networks and cloud services with DBO service level guarantees are now available to towns, small business, schools, and many previously underserved, narrowband markets.

The Digital BackOffice is a business unit of Advanced Corporate Networking, a Connecticut based business with over two decades of experience. “We have developed expertise and an understanding of the needs of our vertical market customers”, said DBO President, Francis Palacio. “Public sector IT usage has grown significantly but the ratio of support personnel to devices has not. Digital BackOffice cloud and managed services help our communities bridge the support/services gap with highly availability, sustainable network and IT infrastructure from our in state data centers”.
