North Branford CT Public Schools Prepares for District Wide Testing

North Branford Public Schools are now connected by a Gigabit speed optical fiber network and a Gigabit connection to the Connecticut Education Network (CEN).  Digital BackOffice completed the installation in July, in preparation for district-wide computer adaptive testing during the 2013-2014 academic year.   “The primary purpose of upgrading the school district wide area network is to ensure that ample bandwidth is available for Common Core aligned standards and assessments” said Tim Hartigan, North Branford’s Director of Technology.  “The 100% optical fiber wide area network with a high speed internet gateway, provided by CEN, will permit the school district to better support cloud based curriculum and reporting.  New high bandwidth services such as video, voice over IP and cloud based applications will now be possible between all schools.”

Digital BackOffice has successfully integrated high-speed managed fiber networks for many Connecticut schools including Stamford, Norwalk, West Hartford and now North Branford.  The Digital BackOffice team has defined public sector expectations for managed services, network reliability, cost of ownership and project management.  DBO service level guarantees are available to towns, small business, schools, and many previously underserved, narrowband markets.

The Digital BackOffice is a business unit of Advanced Corporate Networking, a Connecticut based business with over two decades of IT experience.  “We have developed expertise and an understanding of the needs of our K-12 education customers”, said DBO President, Francis Palacio.  “Public sector IT usage has grown significantly but the ratio of support personnel to devices has not.  Digital BackOffice cloud and managed services help our communities bridge the support/services gap with highly availability, sustainable network and IT infrastructure from our in state data and network operation centers”.
